Lady Cherry

our leadersLoving mother, community outreach worker and wife of Pastor A. W. Wilcots, Cherry D. Wilcots shares her husband’s true passion for ministry and community empowerment.

Born and raised in Houston, TX, Cherry is the second child of five siblings.  Her father, Claude Davis, was a rail-engineer and her mother, Jessie Pearl Davis, was a hair and beauty consultant.   Cherry’s grandparent, Mitchell L. and Eliza Marie Hatchett, were co-founders of her family’s home church, Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church.  Her family has always been close-knit, sharing family meals and worshiping God together.

Cherry Davis first caught the eye of her future husband, Pastor A. W. Wilcots of the Bible Days Revival Church (Galveston), at one of his many tent revival services.  They were married on November 24, 1990, at the Bible Days Revival Church of Houston, TX.
Years later Cherry and Pastor Wilcots, along with their four children, accepted the responsibilities of leading Liberty Baptist Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  Once they settled in New Jersey, Cherry pursued her Bachelors of Science in Education.  In May of 2000, she obtained a graduate degree from Kean University.  She taught elementary school and was a Board of Education Commissioner for six years.  During her time at Liberty Baptist Church, she worked hard as the leader of the Women’s and Church School Ministries.

Cherry and Pastor Wilcots, after seeking God’s will, returned to their native home of Houston, TX.  They are now the “dynamic duo” that provide spiritual guidance, growth and empowerment to all that attend the Bible Days Church of the City.  Cherry shares the Love of God with all who come in contact with her graceful spirit.
